THIS CODE HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE APPROVED CODE OF PRACTICE FOR CRANES (THIRD EDITION).  PLEASE REFER TO THE THIRD EDITION OF THE CODE.

This code has been prepared by the Department of Labour in conjunction with representatives of the industries concerned. Its purpose is to support the requirements of the Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways Regulations 1999 and the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995. References in this code to 'Regulations' mean the Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways Regulations 1999.
