Heavy Power Presses - Safety Principles for
The problem of guarding the heavy power press effectively, both to meet production considerations, and the requirements under the Machinery Act 1950, involves points of a highly technical nature, also, because of the size of these particular presses, this problem was a different one from that of the smaller press.
In an attempt to overcome these difficulties, research and investigations by Officers of the Department of Labour, in consultation with press users, was carried out, which resulted in providing this necessary material as a contribution to industrial safety.
