Press Brake Guarding
This is a supplement to the !970 Department of Labour booklet Safety Principles for Press Brakes and deals with guarding developments since the earlier book was published, particularly the availability of New Zealand-made proprietary guards. These comprise two types of electronic guard and two types of mechanical early rise guard, which are detailed here. Information is also given for owners who wish to make their own guards, although proprietary guarding is recommended.
