IANZ = International Accreditation New Zealand
NATA = National Association of Testing Authorities (the Australian equivalent of IANZ)
MRA = Mutual Recognition Agreement

Engineering Safety is required as a consequence of PECPR Regulation 25(g) to participate in the IANZ assessments leading to accreditation of inspection bodies.

Inspection bodies of type A, B or C employ Design Verifiers and/or Equipment Inspectors.

Inspection Bodies

Inspection Bodies.

CoP = Code of Practice

Enquiries and advice tend to be more frequent with the larger inspection bodies.

Qualification Bodies.

AINDT = Australian Institute for Non-Destructive Testing
CBIP = Certification Body for Inspection Personnel
IPENZ = Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand
ITO = Industry Training Organisation
NZQA = New Zealand Qualifications Authority

Exemptions for controllers are principally for duties and in terms of PECPR Regulation 5.

H&S Inspectors and other field staff

H&S Inspectors and other field staff.

A few H&S Inspectors have an engineering background.

H&S Inspectors are encouraged to sponsor and project manage CoPs.

Occasionally significant accident investigations by H&S Inspectors require backup or follow-up by Engineering Safety personnel.
